SZA-1 Sub-Zone Amplifier
Details
Sometimes all you need is a little extra power. This simplified, yet clean and great sounding amplifier does not include a tuner, preamp or other bells and whistles. It was designed specifically to provide an affordable solution for simply amplifying speakers anywhere in your home.
Here are three typical uses:
1. Sub-Zone Amplifier
As its model name implies, the SZA-1 (Sub-Zone Amplifier) is ideal for powering speakers in a sub-zone. A sub-zone is usually a room near a primary zone that is forced to listen to the source selected by the primary zone, but which has its own volume control.
Speakers in the primary zone are usually powered by a multi-channel amplifier and volume is controlled with a phone, tablet, or wall-mounted controller. Speakers in a sub-zone require their own amplifier if you wish to control the volume separately- most often by installing an in-wall volume control somewhere in the sub-zone.
2. Part of an Entry Level whole-house audio system
3. Powering speakers for TV audio
Another common use for the SZA-1 is to power a pair of speakers connected directly to a TV. As our TVs have gotten thinner, the sound quality of the built-in speakers has noticeably diminished. Adding this amplifier and a nice pair of speakers solves this problem.
