HDX Manual and Installation Instructions

Here are some things to consider when choosing from our HDX line:

The swivel tweeters are recessed behind the grille so the speakers look perfectly flush, even though the most directional frequencies are aimed where you need them.
A +/-3dB tweeter switch and a +/-3dB woofer switch give you complete control in fine-tuning the speakers to your room and personal taste. Non-ideal placement, such as in a corner, is no longer a problem.
Our anodized aluminum dome tweeter produces crisp detail with none of the harshness or ringing associated with other metal dome tweeters.
The larger the woofer, the more bass you will achieve. You also get more power handling. Both are important for large rooms.
Our proprietary design allows for either of two styles of included grilles to be attached. Choose from a trimless grille attached via hidden magnets or a press-fit grille that exposes a modest trim, similar to canned lighting.
The grilles (and trim if exposed) can be painted to match your decor, making the speakers virtually invisible.

Definitions

"tambre-matched" – [pronounced TAM-ber] refers to how closely the tonal character of different speakers in a system aligns. Timbre is the unique “color” or quality of a sound—what makes a violin sound different from a flute even when playing the same note. In a home theater setup, timbre-matched speakers reproduce voices and instruments with consistent tonal balance across all channels. This ensures that sounds move smoothly and naturally from one speaker to another, without noticeable shifts in tone or coloration. Poor timbre-matching can make dialogue or effects sound uneven or disconnected as they pan across the room.

“transient detail” refers to how accurately a speaker reproduces very short, fast changes in sound—such as the attack of a drum hit, the pluck of a guitar string, or the initial consonants in speech. These are called transients, and they happen in milliseconds. If a speaker handles transients well, those quick bursts of energy sound crisp and lifelike rather than smeared or dull. Poor transient response often comes from cabinet resonance, slow drivers, or poorly designed crossovers, which blur these details and make the sound less precise.
