Cat cable NOT required
It is possible to control our Mid-Level and Lync whole-house audio systems from any iOS or Android smart phone or tablet using your existing WiFi network and our free HTD Home Audio App. If the difficulty of running Cat 5 (or higher) cable to Keypad locations has prevented you from enjoying true multi-source/multi-zone functionality, you are now in luck as long as you already have speaker cable run from each speaker to a central location (or can easily do so).
Planning to use Alexa?
Option 1: Install an Alexa device called the Echo Dot in the ceiling of a room and connect it to a source input on the whole-house audio central controller using one of our Voice Assistant Mounting Kits. When that source is selected in the zone, you can communicate with Alexa and hear her answers and music streaming. Ask Alexa to stream from Prime Music, Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, and more. Volume is controlled by our app.
Option 2: Select a system with the MC-66, Lync 6, or Lync 12 controller and choose model DMA-1240ADS as your multi-channel amplifier. Connect the Echo Dot to the Voice Assistant input for that zone. This allows Alexa to take priority at any time over whatever source you’ve selected in the whole-house audio system. With this configuration, you’ll also be able to use and hear Alexa even when the system is off or in stand-by. Volume is controlled by voice and via the Alexa app.

Ideal for upgrading EXISTING systems
If your home already has speakers installed in the ceiling and rotary-style volume controls on the walls, chances are your system requires everyone in the home to listen to the same source. We call this a single-zone system with independent volume control for each room. By simply adding a controller and WiFi gateway, you can subdivide your home into 6 or 12 zones that can independently select between multiple sources. Leave the volume controls in place or remove them entirely and control everything from smart phones and tablets. Let us help you vastly improve the way you enjoy audio in your home!
A “clean look” alternative for NEW installations
Our “No Keypad” sets are ideal for new installations where a minimalist “no keypads on the wall” aesthetic is important.
We want to help!
There are a lot of benefits to buying and installing your own system, including saving money and better understanding your system so you’re not so dependent on an installer. At HTD, being a DIYer doesn’t mean you have to go it alone. Since our start in 1999, we’ve stood behind our products with free expert support. And if you’re in new construction, take advantage of our free Upload Your Plans service.
