Infra Red Panel (IRP)

With the prevalence of music streamers that can be controlled over WiFi, the popularity of Infra Red (IR) controllable devices is quickly fading. That said, if you still own equipment that can be controlled with an IR remote, such as a multi-disc CD player, you can place that equipment at the central location and control it from elsewhere in the home by installing one of our IR Panels (IRP for short).

The IRP is an on-wall receiving eye that installs inside a standard single gang wall box (sold separately).  Mount in a convenient location and connect using any 3 conductors in a Cat 5 (or better) cable to the Global IR Input on the back of a centrally-located Lync 6 or Lync 12 whole-house audio controller.  It can also be connected to the discontinued MC-66 or MCA-66 with the purchase of a special adapter.  Call for details.

Alternatively with Lync systems, an IRP can be connected to an open RJ45 port on a LyncTouch, AIP, BIP, or DIP using a special adapter included with every IRP.  When installed this way, IR signals are only output using "Routed IR" (see the Lync manual for details).

Point your IR remote control at the IRP and its signals are "flashed" to your centrally located equipment via IR emitters (sold separately) plugged into the Lync or MC controller.

Please note that the IRP is used to pass IR signals through your system; it is NOT used to control a zone or any other aspect of your whole-house audio system.
