More Info
One of the features that sets Lync apart from all other whole-house audio systems, is the ability to easily connect audio sources not only at the central location, but also at convenient connection points spread throughout the home.
In addition to the 3.5mm input on the front of each LyncTouch, you can add analog, digital, or even wireless bluetooth input locations throughout your home. The sources you connect to any of these input panels are then available to all zones in your home.
The Analog Input Panel (AIP), Digital Input Panel (DIP), and Bluetooth Input Panel (BIP) can be connected directly to the central Lync controller or "daisy chained" with each other and/or a LyncTouch using standard Cat 5/6 cable.
Including the LyncTouch, you can connect a maximum of four input devices into any one zone. The AIP, DIP, and BIP get their power over the same Cat 5/6 cable that connects the device into the Lync system. The centrally-located Lync controller provides enough power for a maximum of 12 devices for the Lync 6 and 18 devices for the Lync 12.
Please note that while you can install up to four input devices into a single zone, only one input per zone will be active at any time. Two shorting bars located on the back of the LyncTouch, AIP, DIP, and BIP are used to uniquely identify each input device and set the priority.
