The MC2-86 receives stereo input signals from up to 8 audio devices (all of which can be located near the MC2-86 and up to 6 can alternatively be spread throughout the house). It obeys commands from our KC2 Keypads which are installed in each zone and connected to the controller via cat 5 cable. For each zone, the MC2-86 outputs the desired source at a designated volume into the multi-channel amplifier. The amplifer is the "brawn" of the system, amplifying the signal via speaker cable to the speakers located in each zone.
 
• Each zone can independently select from up to 8 audio components
• 6 components can be located throughout the house, i.e. one component from each zone is available to the entire house
• Place one, or multiple, digital keypads into each zone
• Keypads are connected to the MC2-86 audio controller via Cat 5 cable
• A 3.5mm (1/8") input jack on each keypad is available for connecting an MP3 player, iPod, etc.
• Page the entire house using the built-in microphone and page button on each keypad
• Plenty of power (35 watts RMS / 55 watts program) is available to each speaker from a centralized 12-channel amplifier; additional power can easily be added to any zone at any time
• Two pairs of speakers can be included in each zone without additional equipment
• Centrally located audio components can be controlled via infrared (IR) remote from within each zone. Each keypad passes infrared signals to the audio controller, which in turn passes signals to various components, e.g. CD player, Tuner, Satellite receiver, etc.
