Use this Infra-Red (IR) receiving eye to receive IR signals from an IR remote control. It connects to the back of our MC-86 or an IR distribution block so that your IR components can be located out of sight yet still be controlled.
In many of today's installations, audio and video components are hidden behind cabinets or located in a closet. You can still use your Infra-Red (IR) remote controls to control these components with the use of our IR receiving eye, model number IR-RX. The IR-RX includes a 5 meter (16 foot) cable with a 3.5mm connector for easy connection to our MC-86 whole-house audio controller OR our IR-BLOCK infra-red distribution block.
When using the IR-BLOCK: Connect one IR-RX and up to 6 infra-red emitters (dual or single, both sold separately). Position the IR-RX where it is convenient inside your room. You will aim your IR remote controls at the receiving eye. Place one emitter in front of each component you wish to control via infra-red. When you aim your IR remote control at the IR-RX, the signal is passed through the IR-BLOCK and on to each component that has en emitter located in front of it.
