| CBL-Cat 5e Cable |
 |
This cable is not something we make. Instead, we buy in bulk from a reputable distributor and make it available in various lengths as a service to our customers.
Pre-terminated cable usually guarantees a good conection. However, if you are running your own bulk cable, we highly recommend using the EZ-RJ45 Crimping Tool made by Platinum Tools (see right). Your system will not operate properly with poor or incorrect cable terminations. Please read the details below if you plan to terminate your own cable. Item in Stock. Ships same day (M-F) if ordered by 2pm Central. |

While only 4 of the 8 cables found inside Cat-5e cable are used for most computer networks, the correct termination of all 8 wires is required for proper operation of our Advanced Whole-House Audio System. You must follow standard T568-A or T568-B when connecting your own RJ45 connectors to the ends of Cat-5e cable, or your system will not operate properly.
Regular Cat-5 cable will also work with our Advanced Whole-House Audio System, but Cat-5e provides more twists for each pair of wires which helps reduce cross-talk between wires. Most networking cable sold today is Cat-5e (although it is still often referred to simply as Cat-5). Cat-6 cable has even more twists and is also suitable for our system.
Please note that HTD does not make this cable, instead we buy in bulk from a certified manufacturer. So our cable prices are still below typical retail, although not as dramatically as our own HTD products.
