Tips for running Cat-5 cable for whole-house audio

Here are some tips for running Cat-5 cable for use with our Advanced Whole-House Audio Setup:

Do not run Cat-5 cable within three feet of fluorescent lights.

Avoid running Cat-5 cable parallel to high voltage lines. Always cross Cat-5 cable at a 90 degree angle.

Do not split or route Cat-5 cable through an ethernet hub or switcher.

Cat-5 may be run through a passive patch bay as long as point-to-point connectivity is maintained. But keep in mind that every time you pass through a connector, there will be some signal loss. If possible, try to maintain a point-to-point connection.
