The MC-66, MCA-66 and Lync Whole-House Audio Controllers have a 9-pin RS-232 serial port for connection to a PC allowing additional control, monitoring and setup functionality.
Please note that this cable will NOT be used if you have purchased the HTDNET-MC or HTDNET-LYNC for controlling your whole-house audio system from any smart device, including PCs.
Some PCs may not have an RS232 Serial port. This adapter cable, when used in combination with free driver software you can download from HTD, will allow use of the PC's USB port as an alternative connection method.
Please note that this adapter cable is not made by HTD but is provided by HTD as a service to our customers. Similar cables & software are available elsewhere that will also work with our whole-house audio controllers. In all cases, the use of a USB-to-Serial adapter or cable REQUIRES that you install the correct software driver for your PC's operating system before use. HTD provides a free download of the driver software for our adapter cable in the Software Downloads section under Expert Support.
