Our KC2 digital keypad is easy to install and easy to use. Unlike other designs, our keypad is intuitive and can be used by anyone the first time.

The keypad is designed to fit a Decora-style cutout. We provide an attractive "screwless" wall plate, but you can instead choose to install the keypad using your own Decora-style wall plate, including a multi-gang plate.

The keypad connects to the MC2-86 Multi-Source/Multi-Zone Audio Controller via Cat-5 or Cat-6 cable. Keypads are assigned a zone "number" using a zone button on the back of the keypad that corresponds to a zone number on the MC2-86. Up to three MC2-86 controllers can be connected together with up to 16 unique zones. Multiple keypads can be assigned the same zone number . Adjusting one keypad in that zone will adjust all of the keypads assigned to the same zone number. Each keypad includes two RJ-45 inputs so that keypads can be "daisy chained" together, whether or not they are assigned the same zone number. However, only one source can be connected to one keypad on an individual Cat-5 or Cat-6 cable.

Use the built-in 3.5mm (1/8") jack on the keypad to connect an MP3 player, iPod, etc. When a source is connected to this input, it can be available to every zone in the house. Note that every keypad can be programmed individually to determine which sources are available to that zone.

Use the page feature and built-in microphone to page the rest of the zones. When a Page button is pressed on any keypad, all of the zones are interupted until the Page button is released. While the Page button is active, a person's voice is heard in every zone (as long as the keypad is ON) at the volume set by that zone's keypad.

Each KC2 Keypad includes an IR (infra-red) receiver that transmits signals received from any IR remote control (operating in the 37.5 to 39.5 kHz band) back to the MC2-86. Using IR emitters connected to the back of the MC2-86 and positioned in front of source components located near the MC2-86, it is possible to control a component using its remote control from any room that includes a KC2 keypad, i.e. you can control centrally located devices from within each zone.

Set the volume in a room from 00 to 99
Use the Page button and built-in microphone to Page the entire house

Press the Power/Mute button once to put the keypad in mute mode where no source is heard but the zone is still available for paging
Press and hold the Power/Mute button for two seconds to turn a zone off for "do not disturb" mode
"Screwless" Decora-style wall plate and hardware included
Fits most plastic electrical boxes with at least 3 1/4" depth
