Level TWO Tower Speakers

Our Level TWO Tower speaker is designed to blend perfectly with other Level TWO speakers.

The low and mid-range is reproduced by dual 5.25" FCD^TM cone drivers. FCD stands for Fabric, Ceramic, Doping. It is made by first creating the cone's shape using a strong, and extremely lightweight fabric. A ceramic coating is then hand applied, heated, and hardened to give the cone its stiffness. Finally, a slightly sticky polymer coating (doping) is also hand applied that helps increase bass response and add warmth to the overall tone. FCD offers the smoothest and most natural sound of any cone material we have ever tested.

A second order crossover (12dB/12dB) seamlessly directs the highest frequencies into the 1" ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeter. Silk has long been a preferred material of high-end speaker designers because of its ability to effortlessly reproduce frequencies up to 20kHz without sounding "harsh" or "cutting". Our silk dome tweeter maintains excellent clarity with near-zero distortion and is often described as having a "silky smooth" air about it.

Cabinets are cut using computer-controlled machines and made of quality 3/4" MDF with internal bracing to minimize unwanted cabinet resonance. Unlike many of our competitors, we never cover our cabinets in cheap imitation-wood grain vinyl. Instead, our cabinets are painted black with mid-gloss lacquer or expertly covered in gorgeous real wood veneers.

As opposed to a simple port tube, our Level TWO speakers include a tuned port with a 1/12 wave internal transmission line. This allows our speakers to produce a warmer tone with more bass than other speakers of similar size. Connections are made via gold-plated five-way binding posts that accept bare wire, pins, spade connectors, banana plugs or dual banana plugs. 14 gauge oxygen free copper speaker cable with a high strand count is recommended.

Optional stands and wall-mount brackets are sold separately. Brass tip-toe feet, rubber dome pads and felt pads are included with the speaker for decoupling the speaker from any surface.
